Summary

This unit discusses functionality that is available through the XStream® HDVR® SDK to enable various advanced 3D workflows in your applications. Topics include fusion, polygon import/export, 4D rendering, annotations, curved MPR, advanced lighting, movie maker, segmentation, slab control, stereo, and sub-regions.

2D Fusion: This page discusses the process for blending images generated from PET and CT datasets to produce a fused PET/CT image. The techniques described on this page may be used to fuse images generated from any dataset type.

3D Polygon Meshes: This chapter describes functions used to create, manipulate, visualize and save vertex-based mesh geometry.

4D Datasets: This page discusses loading and animating 4D time series datasets.

Annotations: This page discusses utility functions that can be used to facilitate the drawing of user interface specific screen annotations such as text, lines, or other graphical labels.

Cropping: This page discusses functions that can be used to apply cut planes to the volume. Cropping is frequently done to remove material that is not of clinical interest, and to improve the visualization of the target area of interest. Regions of the dataset that have been cropped are not processed or visualized by the rendering algorithm.

Curved MPR: This page discusses functions to apply a transformation to the visualization of the dataset. The Curved MPR feature can be used to straighten the visualization of a curved structure for better diagnostic imaging and analysis.

Curved Reformat: This page discusses functions create a new dataset by applying a set of transformations to an existing dataset. The Curved MPR feature is used to straighten the visualization of a curved structure to build a view that can provide better diagnostic imaging and analysis.

Movie Maker: This page discusses functions used to create an animation from a set of keyframes. A fly-through movie of a dataset can be generated using these features.

Vessel Trace: This page discussed functions used to automatically compute and generate a path along a vessel or other navigable channel, such as a nerve channel trace, or other path through a channel in the dataset.
